This wine is the pinnacle expression from our Sutton Grange farm. Aromas of white flowers, jasmine, cashew butter and citrus rind. The palate is medium bodied, with lemon curd and mandarin oil flavours. The tight core balances the concentration in the palate with a mineral drive
2018 Vintage at Sutton Grange
The 2018 vintage saw an average Winter, with good water storage. Super cold and dry Spring, with lots of frost pressure. Much of the southern end of the Bendigo region had devastating frosts on Melbourne Cup long weekend, but luckily no damage was experienced at Sutton Grange. Late Spring brought us a few frustrating rain events, putting pressure on the risk of disease and flowering. Rain around December meant we had solid canopy growth. Ripening was influenced by a few warm days in early February, while later in the month and early March saw nice and easy conditions. It resulted in the most balanced year we have seen with canopy and fruit.
